Greetings I see the World Health Organization have published a report confirming that a heavy intake of diesel exhaust fumes has been linked to several forms of cancer mainly lung cancer and bladder tumors. I am now waiting in trepidation as to what legislation-restrictions the Health & Safety people will develop to cover this. Should we jump the gun and purchase breathing sets and spare bottles (like the fire brigade), so we can motor through the numerous tunnels on the system. Or should we opt to return to the system of 'legging' or better still convert back to steam power or even a "Hoss" Still the "Hoss" would be of little use in towing through some tunnels without a towpath, unless of course we get the long legged aqua "Hoss" Or what about a electric powered outboard ? Me I have decided to leave all the decisions to CART, so I have just bulk purchased cases of beer to drink whilst awaiting their ruling. I hope the beer has a long expiry date ! until this happens I will take my chance with the fumes, having smoked 30 or more cigarettes per day for 40 years (stopped now) it will be a toss up which gets me first Any other ideas sensible or not ? bwp

The govenment will probably increase the tax on diesel call it a green tax and hope by doing so every one will be happy. I think we should consider pedal power. In fact I came across a blueprint for something on those lines below...

I sanitise everything with the cleansing properties of alcohol. They use it to kill bugs in hospital - good enough for me then, hic. billy

Perhaps the clue is in the name - diesel. ;D Ok, it wasn't that funny. A chap at the yard has bought a plush motor yacht called "Panache". He is most annoyed because I call it "Pan Ache" as in " Don't panic Mr Mannering". billy

Greeting
I remember seeing an article about the ambulance service issuing their crews with coverall, printed on the back and front in large letters was the legend MEDIC. This was alright on the back but when the zip at the front was lowered a bit it appeared as ME DIC.
I have been looking for a pair of these to wear whilst boating it will save other people pointing out something I already know
