Well I currently have 2 6v trojans but gonna double and and get me a couple more batteries on the bank and maybe even replace these two at the same time. So what batteries and brands do folks here rate as every seems to be in complete disagreement that I meet along the way. Obviously would love to find me a bargain too...

Rolls are good and can have a 10 year guarantee. I have 458ah at C5 but should have had double that I reckon. That would have been around the 4k mark. Fork lift truck batteries are good for domestic services and second-hand ones do come up that are not too knackered. Leisure batteries are just not built to take heavy discharge for too long but cheap enough if looked after but you don't expect too much. I use them on the little boat and they last me around 5 years. Car or lorry batteries for engine starting and I always like them dedicated to that job only. www.smartgauge.co.uk/technical1.htmlNot that I recommend a smart gauge or anything but their web site does have a load of really useful info about batteries, charging and the like. billy

Well the Trojan 105s we have come to about 100-150 each so fairly cheap and figure another two will be dandy at that price as not too much consumption just giving us a little more playroom though if there are alternatives at the around the same price mark we'd consider those
