Here in Norfolk I've been paying anything from £1.30 to 98p per litre. from boat yards. Really do have to shop round to get a good price. Now waiting for someone to tell me they get it a lot cheaper..

I can squeeze about 1700 litres into my empty tanks. It was a long time ago when I desineed the system, before all this hoo hah. That was when it cost 22p/l, it wasn't that long ago. I have a semi rotary pump which can transfer fuel between tanks and a nozzle for filling cans or (my) little boat next door. Of course I only use it for heating and generating. billy

Moonfleet in Stalham cost £125 per litre and Richardson's is around £145.

Seems quite expensive Andy. Is that a very posh area?

Hello
Thanks for all the comments and help, I have found a place 'Miller Oil' in Brighouse who can supply me if I fetch it for between 72 to 75 pence a litre.

That sounds a good price Brian. Do they do mail order?

diesel prices have certainly gone up remarkably from what I recall as young man! I will have to look about a bit in Scotland, but I like the idea of 75 p per litre, I do hope Andy tells us where he gets that oil for such a hefty price though ;D, I would definitely wish to give that place a miss, even if the whole place is tiled in solid gold plates. definitely a sight to see though ;D

Greetings So much for cheap fuel, having fetched two five gallon plastic drums of it from the supplier @ 73p a litre, I stored it in the garage/barn prior to returning to the boat. Came the day of my departure one of the drums was empty, the floor is made up of rough crushed stone and a sharp piece had punctured the bottom. So the 73p litre diesel had now turned into 146 pence litre not so cheap diesel (+ the cost of a drum !). As Ned Kelly is supposed to have said prior to being hanged "Ah such is life"

Ah, I remember putting a 4 inch hole saw through a bulkhead to fit some heater ducting and being rather surprised when the floor was soaked in diesel. I had inadvertently gone straight into the auxiliary fuel tank. Guess I measured wrong eh. billy
