Has anyone had any dealings with Edward William Marine Services,
who are agents for Northern Reef who are based in Spain.
When I say dealings, I am referring to claims.?
I was at first interested in them, as I needed a surveyor's report for my present insurer
as my boat is now over 30 years old.
Edward William advertise a surveyor's report in not required
with them and their premiums are low.
But something keeps telling me things don't seem right with Edward Williams / Northern Reef.
The further I look into this set-up the more alarm bells start to ring.
(lots of warning signs)
The first thing that got me wondering was the clause at the foot of their application form..
Edward William Marine Services SL is a Spanish Registered Insurance Agent
and as such is not authorised or regulated by the UK Financial Services Association
and is not covered for compensation under the UK Financial Servicers Compensation Schemes (FSCS)
So if the company goes bust, you don't have any comeback, you lose your money.
This made me look further into the companies.. Try puting Edward Williams into google and see what comes up?
or at least give this site a look at.. (one of many)

At first I thought, Hey! cheap premiums no boat survey required, sounds to good to be true..
They do say "if it's too good to be true, maybe it is."
So has anyone made a claim with them yet?
and what was the result?
would be interesting to know.
