Hi, Truly residential moorings are hard to come across. Round the Blackwater there was a scheme called Licensing but this has fallen by the wayside many years ago. Now we occupy moorings, berths or whatever with the knowledge that one day we might have to move. Are you looking for coastal or inland? Would you be happy to have a berth and keep your head down or is an official residential berth the only way. I think there is a section on this on the Residential Boat Owners' Association (RBOA) site. Presumably your draught would be about two foot six? What services would you require, what sort of access would be acceptable? Somewhere like this perhaps? Lots to think about, come back with a few more answers and I will see if I can suggest anything. billy

Hi Billy,im looking for inland moorings. We do need an official mooring because we have a school aged child a need a permanent address to try and get a school place for him. Draught would be around 2ft 6'
Thanks

Hi Paul. A warm welcome to the forum. I see Billy has been able to offer you help in looking for residential moorings in your area. Residential moorings do seem a bit thin on the ground. Good luck in finding one, keep us informed of how you get on. Hope you find the forum helpful in other ways too. Please feel free to join in and post, anything you want to know just ask.

Some marinas will allow you to reside unofficially. It's good for security but too many in one place is not so good and eventually attracts unwanted attention. I guess it's get the map out and wear some shoe leather but I reckon you are already doing that. I am afraid I am not too familiar with the inland waters of Essex. billy
